tfl solution

Leading a team of MBA students researching Transport for London services, as a part of my fellowship at Imperial college business school, we identified a problem with people not having the correct change on buses. Since the introduction of Oyster cards, buses rarely give change for tickets, which is a problem if your using a bus for the first time. Especially with the Olympics approaching. Our solution was 1) Buy a bus ticket, which also has a record of the change due 2) Go to a newsagents and buy something 3) Use the bus receipt as
payment 4) get your change back.

Benefits: TfL keep bus ques low, keeping timetables on schedule and customers happy. TfL’s customers get their change back. Newsagents get extra customers in their shop.
